Dan Kenerson
Dan earned his degree in Preservation Carpentry at The North Bennet Street School, specializing in historic reproduction doors and windows. After graduation he worked for several years with a preservation contractor, restoring historic buildings across New England. Period detail made each job unique, and the fine craftsmanship of an earlier era was an inspiration.
Historic preservation requires historically accurate moldings and pieces that are not always available commercially, and it was a natural evolution to become involved in the manufacture of custom millwork. Dan continued his education in the field by working with a master craftsman for seven years in New Hampshire’s North Country. During this time Dan produced architectural millwork for a variety of projects including North Country homes and historic buildings in Boston and New York City.
In 2000 Dan opened Salmon Hole Woodworks in Sugar Hill, NH. He has worked with local homeowners and contractors on projects big and small – designing, building or installing all facets of interior and exterior finish work. The transition to whole-home construction is a natural one, and the attention to detail that makes his woodwork well-known serves him well in this venture.
